The Home Prep. Scramble

We are excited about using this blog to stay in touch with everyone.  When we are in China, we will be able to upload pictures every day, and let you know what is happening.

We have been very busy here at home with painting, organizing, and preparing.  Last week we bought a mattress; my brother John helped deliver it (he has a bigger vehicle) and this week we hope the bed will be delivered.  Lisa has been busy doing curtains etc. on the new windows we had put in.  The old windows were unbelievably drafty and ugly.  

I was sick at home on Tues. & Wed. with flu (aches, chills & fever) but finished our taxes during that time.  We will use the money for China; we must carry several thousand in CASH (and we were told that thieves are on the look out).  Some one last week asked if they haven't heard of wire transfers in China.  But anyway, we are proudly holding up the economy on both sides of the Pacific.

We have thrown out a ton of stuff around here & more must go.  We need to "child proof" the house, and make room for a lot of kid activities.  I want to start working on a picture book to help Ellie communicate and learn English.  I hope it might reduce her frustration if Ellie can point to a picture to let us know what she wants, or how she feels.
